The Sonus Faber Olympica Nova I is the entry model in Sonus Faber’s exquisite Olympica Nova range. Stunningly beautiful loudspeakers in both appearance and performance, lovingly handcrafted in Italy.
Compact yet mighty, the Olympica Nova I reveals the subtlest nuances of every performance. It exudes a pristine clarity that not only showcases individual notes but also preserves the cohesion of the melody.
The Olympica Nova I features a 2-way design with optional stand mounts. The front baffle, like the cabinet sides, are crafted from hand-finished wood and set in a solid die-cast aluminum plate. Italian leather encircles the rings around the woofers, applied by hand in our factory in Vicenza, Italy.
Sonus Faber’s core technologies fuse with signature design queues in a clean silhouette to deliver uncompromising Natural Sound.
Olympica Nova I features eight layers of curved wood in its walls, enhancing cabinet rigidity for reduced interference. Internal structural ribs further reduce vibration and support the transducers’ power.
The midwoofer in Olympica Nova I shares its construction with other collection pieces, with two key distinctions. A fabric-coated dust cap ensures an airtight seal, optimizing the moving surface for increased air movement. The moving coil, with enhanced bass performance and extended throw, enhances driver excursion and magnetic field performance.
The bookshelf model has been designed with a custom aluminum extruded stand that features a cable guide to hide the power cable in the column.
From 1983 to today, many moments have marked the history of Sonus faber; the launch of the Olympica collection 6 years ago is one of them. One of the first lines presented as a family of products, but above all, the very first to present original drivers, entirely designed in Sonus faber.
Olympica Nova is the second generation of the iconic 2013 family, perfected both in form and substance, imbued with the timeless values that guided us in the design of the original.
The result is a new collection that uses the most advanced technologies that already enhance our most prestigious creations.
The absence of parallel walls improves the cabinet performance and maintains the asymmetrical lute shape typical of the first Olympica generation.
The asymmetrical section is the result of an original design work that offers the possibility to choose the best positioning, calibrated on the specific listening situation and on the desired bass reproduction. Inspired by nature, the lines flow in a circular spiral motion making the reflex duct structure one with the cabinet walls. The reflex outlet is no longer an additional element for managing the passage of air, but a cavity organically integrated into the cabinet that ensures even more speed and cleanliness of the sound.
