Continuing the pursuit of perfection.
The RS-101 Reference Series stereo power-amplifier.
Just as the RS-100 was based on the award-winning RI-100, so our
Reference Series RS-101 is based on the heavily revised RI-101. The
update was not an easy task – in fact it took our engineers the best part
of three years to achieve.

However, connoisseurs of high-end audio seem to agree that the
results were well worth the effort.
In the first ever review of the new amplifiers, the Editor-in-Chief of
Soundstage Australia wrote:
“The Vitus Audio RI-101 is a stupendous sonic
performer, excelling at the vividness and life of music
while sustaining its tonal beauty, midrange purity
and exerting tight-fisted control over its prodigious
output.”

The Reference Series was the first commercial collection from
the Vitus Audio marque back in 2003, even though the company had
been launched eight years before. It was, if you like, our ‘entry level’
offering, if that isn’t a rather bashful epithet to describe such an elite
set of products. After all, they incorporate many unique and customised
components. Designing and producing these is a complex and expensive
process – but one demanded by our uncompromising insistence upon
the absolute purity of our customers’ musical experience.

For instance, although the move from battery-driven to mains
power supply was a quantum leap in engineering terms, we recognised
that in terms of ultimate sound quality, it could not, and should not, be
avoided. The overall goal of the Reference Series remains unchanged –
namely, to set progressively higher standards in sound quality at that
price point.

In fact, you will find this cautious approach represented in every
aspect of the Vitus Audio brand. When Hans-Ole threw his creative
weight into designing and building what he believed to be the finest
quality, high-end audio components possible, it was inevitable that they
would not be subject to ‘change for change’s sake’, but to a process of
gradual evolution, limited by the speed of technological improvement.
